Today was pretty easy. The shuttle picked me up and here I am. Nobody on the shuttle could believe I didn't have a hotel to go to. They all had a place booked but I prefer to have a look first cos some of the dodgiest places I have had came from the net. I like to get to park central and work from there cos I know where I am and I am close to everything. I got chatting to a lady who was telling me how good her hotel in Tortugero was. It sounded great so I asked how much. She said it was only 50 quid a night. That is 3 or 4 nights for me? On the boat I met up with a group of Americans that I met a couple of days ago and one had beer so we all had a couple of beers.
La Fortuna is like Santa Elena, every building is either a hotel/guest house or tourist info/booking office. They do everything here, zip line, ATV tours, rafting, volcano hikes and heaps more stuff. I think most of it is overpriced but they do a roring trade.
I got talking to a guy in my hotel this morning and he was telling me about and island off the coas here called Parismina and I am going to try to get there. They have turtles nesting there at night and I want to see it if I can. That is why I am going to Tortugero, to see the turtles, but the season might be finished when I get there. We will see?
I have early start tomorrow for the chicken busses, I have to be on the first one out of here at 5.30 to try to make every connection. I doesn't matter if I don't, I have some time so a night in Cariari is no big deal.
