Art Deco capital of NZ However it is Super Bowl Sunday and the 49ers (Dann's team) are in it. Apparently this is very exciting as they haven't done this for a very long time and it is a big deal. Woo. Go 49ers!! LZzzzzzzzz

Can't Beat Chicken Soup End of day two. The sun is starting to go down but it's not quite time for dinner yet. Catching the last rays, the view and resting weary limbs with some soup... LZ

Mount Doom End of day two in the Tongariro National Park. A quite easy day with only four hours of walking through some forests and then over a couple of ridges. This is the land of Lord of the Rings, so imagine the first film's scenery... The last hour didn't feel quite as easy walking through the volcanic rock with a bit of a scramble up a steep climb. Think Frodo's trip up Mount Doom. But now that my little toes are taped up nicely, I am sure that they will ...

The trophy at breakfast on the second day of the tramp. Leah was pretty nonplussed when I showed her the Dora the Explorer strawberry milk I had purchased to go with our muesli.
