Jack London Square

Finishing up our trip in California, we headed for the train station in Oakland, just outside of San Francisco.

We had a couple of hours to kill, so we went exploring. From what looked like it might be quite a dodgy area, we actually stumbled on Jack London Square with a cute little marina, restaurants and bars.

We had a couple of pints in the local pub, which felt like a home from home. It was small, wooden, low ceiling, cozy and had a crazy sloping bar and floor from the San Fran earthquake at the beginning of re twentieth century. It was also where Mr London used to enjoy the odd pint himself.
