It's the 23rd January and we have been in phi phi for 2 nights. I am currently writing this shattered after our trek the LONG way through the jungle to get to the viewpoint. The view was good but we are suffering now! Phi phi is beautiful, we did a boat trip with our friends Preash and Louise and hired our own long tail boat for the day to take us to a few islands. We started in Maya Bay which is where the beach was filmed, it's absolute paradise the sand is like icing sugar and the beach looks like a postcard! We loved the view and got snap happy with the photos. Next we went to Monkey Island which is funnily enough full of monkeys! The run up and down the beach sniffing out food an generally terrorising tourists. Our last stop was Nui bay which was a small secluded beach where we stopped and did some snorkelling and generally messed about on the beach whilst our boat driver went back to the mainland and left us to it for a few hours. We were starting to worry that we were genuinely shipwrecked when we were the only ones on the whole beach and our boat driver was late coming back to get us. When he finally rescued us we headed back and on the way saw the sunset from the boat.
We are getting used to a few things in Thailand like the food, the lack of health and safety and also the toilets! On our way from Phuket our coach stopped for a break at a little service station. The toilets were basically a shed and as we went in I said to Charlie "these will probably be the squatting toilets" but she didn't hear me and after we had faced the hole in the ground style toilets we looked at each other as we came out with a disgusted look on our faces. I went to wash my hands and Charlie said " yeah I need to wash mine as I had to hold the floor to sit down" I then in a shocked voice said " YOU SAT?!?! Your supposed to squat!!!" We have been laughing no stop about this ever since haha!
