It's 3rd Jan and think we are finally over the jet lag. We had a lovely meal last night in a restaurant called the fisherman in Ban Tai which was delicious and under £10 amazing! They even did english style fish and chips which Charlie was pretty happy about! I had pad thai which was delicious. Today we are heading to Haad Yao beach with our friend Dylan who is also staying at Bay Lounge. The beach is on the west of the island, and is supposed to be the best beach on Koh Phangan. Our first cab ran out of petrol half way up the steepest hill I've ever seen and started to roll backwards! We jumped into second cab and we were on our way. We're getting used to the taxis here which are basically a truck with a bench and a hand rail in the back! And I don't think there any such thing as a seatbelt! We have nicknamed them deathcabs! But other than that it feels quite safe here and all the Thai people are really friendly and lovely so far. Arriving in Haad Yao we got some amazing views and the beach is beautiful with white sand and clear warm sea. After a few hours chilling on the beach we headed to Amsterdam bar on the way back. It's a bar right at the top of the hill with amazing views of the coast!
