Arrived back in lovely Christchurch to find the YHA was full and had to go back to Base. Not happy. Bit of a sleep and down to the post office to send home all the bloody wooden rubbish from Fiji that kept holding me up in customs! Short shopping trip and a most disappointing kinder egg toy later, we holed up in the bar with some asian chick who seemed quite cool if a tad mental. And so another two days in Queenstown. First night was a quiet one as everyone was nackered. Next morning, six of us lads went luging off the hill in the middle of town. Basically speeding downhill on wooden go-karts with no brakes. After the first run, full contact was encouraged for a change by the stewards, even giving us push starts. Well well well... Seven days of rain in Queenstown and a cold left me doing pretty much nothing except sleeping. And playing a round of mini golf. What with the two days solid rain there wasn't much to see in Wellington. Wandered around the local museum for half an hour, bought a sewing kit, went to the only Welsh pub in the southern hemisphere and highlight of highlights, ate a crocodile pizza (somewhat spoiled by the mango though, boo mango). Well made it to Wellington.. Its cold and wet. To summarise the last week on the bus... Left Auckland, can't wait to go back.. Honest... Drove across country till we hit Mercury Bay, where a few of us went for a couple of hours of sea kayaking with a pit stop for coffee at Cathedral Cove..
