Gidday all
We were up early on Sunday as we had to be in Monkey Mia which is 26 km from Denham for the dolphin feeding. It's a daily ritual which is one of the few places in the world where wild dolphins come to the beach every morning to get a small feed between 1 and 3 times every morning. It's highly controlled and only happens if and when they appear and there is usually a big crowd and a few lucky people usually kids get to hand feed them. We went on a boat trip photo above for 3 hours where were able to get up close with huge loggerhead turtles, lots of dolphins and most importantly a dugong which was feeding in the shallow sea grass areas. Also on the way out the boat called into a offshore pearl farm where we were shown the process of implanting beads to make into pearls in the huge oysters and also a world first of putting gold nuggets and opals in the shells where the oyster bonds them with pearl. They are then acid washed just enough to reveal the precious goods which makes some very special jewellery. Too many noughts in the price for us!! Afterwards I was ordered out of the knee deep water on the beach because I was trying to get too close ( 2 metres) from dolphin in the shallows and was threatened with a $400 fine, apparently I was in a no go area and they are just so strict so the dolphins don't get too friendly with people even though we feed them !!! The boat trip was fantastic which made the whole day trip just so enjoyable. Monday was spent lazily around Denham with the temp still in the mid twenties visiting the museum and walking about town and along the water front. Today Tuesday saw us on the road heading south calling into various beaches including shell beach where the tiny shells are up to 9 metres deep and the beach is 120 km long and covered in them. Tonight we found a secluded little known camp area around a huge radio aerial with a fantastic view over the calm sea.We were set up having a drink outside enjoying the silence and the solitude when another couple turned up who were locals who stop here for a quiet night when traveling back to where they live on a boat at Monkey Mia. A lovely couple who were very surprised to see us here but we enjoyed a chat about their travels and the area. Well it's just about time to crank up the wok outside and cook up another feed of stir fried veggies so will catch you later.
Nighty night.xxx

Stephanie Hi Marj. Thanks for all your comments love getting them. I believe they may be doing a sequel to Red Dog so must find out more about it. Don't worry we will be back to watch it. I haven't meant to get brown it just happens. The bits you can't see are very white. Take care. Xxxxxx
