After a day in Suva and a long ferry trip, i arrieved in Taveuni. I was picked up by a small boat and taken to Dolphin Bay Resort which is on the second largest island in Fiji; Vanua Levo. It is next to the Rainbow Reef, and if I was a diver, I would have been there! Well, I snorkelled the outskirts of it anyway. Also in this place, people eat together on one table, and I had a good time talking to other people from all over the place. The staff was great - I've said this many times, but Fijians are just so friendly and I feel so taken care of, everywhere i go. In Dolphin Bay, when your beer has bin sitting in front of you for a while, there is a small whisper in your ear: "is your beer still rocking, or do you want another one?" Amanda and Stewart from Edinburgh was working and holidaying here, and Stewart makes the best food! After listening to their accent, I am even keener to go to Scotland!
There was a full moon while I was staying here, and Amanda and I gave it more thant a little attention. Even with my not so advanced camera I was able to take some good pictures. Apperantly on this side of the world, you don't see the man in the moon, but a rabbit. Jo from the UK clarified for us; it's obviously not the other side of the moon you see (that would be the dark side of the moon), but the face is a little bit tilted, so it looks different. You can't see it in the pictures, but just take my word for it.
Another singing session when I was leaving, and instead of the hibiscus behind my ear, I was given a necklace mad of seashells. It was a very beautiful song - and a very sad story behind it. (Maybe for another time).
