After an amazing few days on Koh Tao we were off to the other side of Thailand to Koh Phi Phi (Koh means island in Thai by the way!) We've been on the island for 3 nights already, and leaving after tonight. It's been incredible this island. Beautiful weather the whole time we've been here. The best day, had to be the day boat tour we did off the surrounding islands. As a lot of the krabi islands are part of a National Park, the majority are protected, cleaned and kept uninhabited. So we had a tour to some incredible bays on the smaller islands near Phi Phi. The best as to be either an island called 'bamboo island', which I'm sure is used in most holiday brochures, or 'Maya Bay' which is where the film 'the beach' is filmed partly, along with an island in Brazil.
The island is also a bit of a party island, as it's so close to Phuket, the tourist centre really. So the nightlife has been great. There is a bar here called the reggae bar which has a boxing ring in the centre, and any two people can volunteer to entertain the crowd and fight. I ended up having a kick boxing match with a friend from out here, which was great fun! And got some free drinks in return!
Tomorrow we are off to Railay, another krabi island that apparently has some great rock climbing, so I'll try my hand at that!
After that we leave Ed on the 6th of July, and meet Tim down in Indonesia on the 20th, so me and Matt were thinking of going to Cambodia to see the coastal islands there and also the killing fields in the time we have in-between leaving and meeting friends.
Still loving it! And after a bit of consideration, I decided I would still be here than Glasto this last weekend!!!
