Everyone except Annie and I was up the next morning to do a trip further north for the day - it wasn't included in our passes. We woke up when they were leaving around 7 and then went back to sleep for a few hours when they had left which was awesome! We checked out around 10 and went for a wander to find some food. We chilled out on really cool bench things by the seafront for a while then went and got some really good wedges from a nice restaurant at the pier. After that we chilled on the beach for a few hours - the weather was lovely! I was a little bit worried that I might burn though. In the afternoon we went for a wander around town for a bit and had some fish and chips, before heading back to the hostel for our bus going back down south at 4.

I slept for most of the bus journey, it was pretty uneventful, just a straight road back into Auckland. I checked into Base hostel and ended up in a room with Karen, a Belgian girl who has been on a good few of my buses! Didn't really know what to do with myself, was feeling pretty lazy so just caught up on blogs. A guy in the room gave me one of his books so I started reading that.
