ITALY - DAY 18 Headed out bright and early towards to Spanish Steps. We climbed to the top and admired the view. We saw an artist's painting that we liked, and after we've been to the Amalfi Coast if it is really like the paintings, we will purchase several to take home to hang on our wall. ITALY - DAY 17 This morning we rushed around trying desperately trying to get our clothes washed and dried before being driven to our hotel on the other side of Rome. After checking in we headed back out towards the Bocca della Verita (The Face of Truth). ITALY - DAY 16 Left Florence this morning and headed into Siena for the morning. This is where they hold a horse race every year with a representative from each district. The men have to ride their horse around a circuit three times and stay on and finish first. The horse is then treasured and a huge feast is held in its honor. We climbed the city tower. ITALY - DAY 15 We headed into Florence today to see Michelangelo's "David" among other fabulous works. It was amazing. To think that he was able to carve it from marble in 18 months without a model was incredible. The man was an absolute genius, even if he wasn't a very nice man.
