Up at 9am ready to go on day trip. First stop was the cathedral which was amazing. Can house 20,000 people standing. The stained glass windows were spectacular. Then onto the Lapa Steps. Next stop was Christ the Redeemer. (Check out my hat). This was one of those moments where I got shivers up my spine just like I did when I visited the Sistene Chapel. The views are breathtaking. From here we went to Sugar Loaf Mountain. After 2 hours in a queue we eventually got in the cable car and travelled up the mountain. Views again were breathtaking. We could see Copacobana in the distance. The beach was covered in little red umbrellas. Back to the hotel by 4pm and time for nap. Going to Sambradome tonight to see the parade. We are meeting at 10pm in the foyer and taking the subway.
