Had early morning meeting with Kumuka staff. Six of us decided to get subway to Copacabana. Got off at Ipanema and walked along beach to Copacabana. We could see Sugar Loaf and the cable cars in the distance. We had lunch on the beach I had a pizza in a cone? Looked more like an icecream but was hot and tasty. I also asked for a scotch and coke zero. Well I got the coke zero ok then out came the scotch a whole glass! One of the street entertainers called Sally "Lady Gaga". Baahaa. Can't get over all the budgie smugglers. Woo hoo. The stations were full of party goers heading into Lapa for live concerts. Lapa is a block away from our hotel. The procession we followed last night is called a bloco. We are going to a football game at 4.30. Got to stadium and sat at a sidewalk bar, took forever to get served. Finally get to enter stadium... I think we were the "rent a crowd". What a fizzer. Taxi driver did loops of the samba drone on the way home, lucky we paid up front. Really hungry, feel like some bbq'd corn. Walked everywhere eventually found some. Yummo. Walked around the square near hotel,smelt of urine, people using streets as there are not enough toilets. Bought a hat and glasses for tomorrow night, now take me back to the bar. Had a few and watched some of the Samba entries on Tv. Wow Wow WOW. Can't wait for tomorrow night we are all heading for Sambradome via Metro Subway. My ticket is in sector 5.
Tomorrow we also are going to Sugar Loaf, Christ the Redeemer and more.
Had a great day with some wonderful new friends. Oops nearly forgot, met Pj in foyer before we left for footy so now 6 has become 7. We are having an amazing time. Parties , singing and music everywhere. Street food is awesome.
