Travelled in Siem Reap on a semi local bus taking 10 hours.
Siem Reap is a lovely city. The locals are so friendly, and the city has such a welcoming vibe about it! I though I'd just stop here to visit the temples, but I can see how people get stuck here!! There is so much history, loads of markets and a pub street!

The hard life of being a traveller has got to me again today...needed a relaxing day involving a body massage, I love these days!!

Shopping, shopping and more shopping! There are so many markets and nice independent shops here, obviously needed a day of retail therapy! And a manicure and a pedicure!!

Ok, today is temple day, let's explore!
Angkor Wat - what a beautiful temple. This temple is stunning, the carvings in the stone of the building are amazing.
We had a tour guide to explain all about Angkor Wat.
He showed us some marks in the stone walls and floor which were from bombs from the Americans. Explained the importance of the number 7 - 7 colours in the rainbows, 7 pillars and 7 blocks (paving stones) on the bridge to Angkor Wat!! Also, on the walls of the temple there are loads of carved figures - only a few are smiling as this is said to be bad, which is why they don't smile in photos!

Ta Phrom - this temple has trees and roots growing out of the temple and stones. It is where Tomb Raider was filmed.

Angkor Thom - city enclosed by four walls, 5 gateways (crossed the Gate of Victory), containing various temples and Bayon.
Bayon - this temple had faces carved in the stone work. This is fantastic.

Back to Angkor Wat to watch the sunset. It was cloudy but this just made the sunset more pretty. Walked around to the other side of Angkor Wat to watch the sun go down behind, there was nobody else there. It was fantastic to watch the sunset without all the crowds of people, just me and two friends.

Last day in Siem Reap...time for a massage - foot, neck, back, shoulder and head this time, although I'm not sure why they spent such a long time on my legs?!!

On to the night bus tonight heading south to Sihanoukville.
