Up & about early to catch our bus to Ollantaytambo. Arrived for a quick bite before making our way up the multiple tiers of the Inca ruins. The tiers here were massively steep (as always!) and were used for growing crops, using their advanced irrigation system of multiple layers of different materials within each tier. Arrived at about 7:30am feeling absolutely knackered! Rach had been particularly unwell on the bus & the ridiculous bumpiness of the journey didn't aid us in sleeping either. I fared a bit better with about 5-6 hours, but Rach........well.......poor thing! The hostel couldn't let us check in until 1pm, so Rach slept in the TV room, while I watched the final of the French Open before drifting off myself. Felt a bit better this morning so had breakfast with the English couple, packed & checked out (well.......moved our bags out of our room & then b*****ed off to town for the day!) When we finally dumped our laundry somewhere, we went into the Monastery & spent 3 hours walking around this Citadel within the city. Today was a complete non-starter!! We both woke up feeling like crap & literally laid around until about 2pm feeling sorry for ourselves. I'm sure if we hadn't had to have booked the bus tickets for the next day, we'd probably have spent the whole day in the hostel! However we managed to make it out for about 3 hours, during which time we booked our (what we thought was expensive) bus ticket to Cusco & squeezed in a meal that could have easily fed 4!! Got...
