We were up at 8am to wolf down some food, pick up our packed lunch (& have the barman nick some more rizlas) & jump on another truck for today's tour. We all stood up on the back of the truck for the half hour journey down the dirt tracks to our first stop. We were given a candle each & headed up into the dark cave. The trip inside included wading & swimming (one handed) through freezing cold water, climbing up a rope through a waterfall & slipping through a dark hole of streaming water into an unknown destination (f***ing scary!!). Rach & I both slipped along the way, but only ended up with a few scratches & bruises. From the cave we grabbed a rubber ring each & jumped in the river to ride the current downstream (with me very nearly being carried away!). A rope swing into the river followed. However, with me being the poor swimmer I am, (and already nearly being carried away), I decided against it. Rach very bravely almost went, but instead backed out at the very last minute, to have her first ever panic attack, bless her. But she soon recovered & we grabbed some lunch before walking to the Semuc Champey pools. These crystal clear tiered pools ran for about half a mile & we all swam in them, having our toes nibbled by the fish! A slow hard climb to the cliff next to the pools gave us a fantastic view, from whence we had another quick dip & headed back. During the day we'd befriended a Peruvian (Victor), an Isreali (?), & an American couple (Jamie & Eric), so ate our gorgeous buffet back at our place with them & the guys from last night. Another night of drinking, chatting & dancing ensued, with Eva ('gentleman' lesbian) & I being plied with free Nutella-vodkas from the barmaid! 3am appeared & we decided to call it a night!
