Visited the Cadbury Factory in Claremont today. Interesting little tour. Didn't know that the queen granted royal purple and gold to be used for their wrapping/logo etc. And once made all products are shipped to Victoria where it is then distributed out even back to Tasmania! They use the cane sugar from bundaberg qld and all the milk comes from up north around Bernie as the cows graze on more luscious land up there! giving the more creamy flavor. there are 600 workers employed at the factory there used to be 3000 but with economic pressures they went more robotic and make some products at Cadbury factories elsewhere. The factory land was originally 22,000 acres which was bought in the early 1900's for 11grand what bargain aye! It all looks a little run down its a sad sight I hope it's not another Aussie factory that closes.
