...Road trip to where the beach meets the rainforest...

Yeshim and me have been off on a road trip for a couple of days to Cape Tribulation which is where the rainforest meets the beach. On Monday we hired out a car and headed north from Cairns stopping off at Port Douglas and Mossman Gorge along the way.

Port Douglas was a really quaint little place with a lovely little simple church with the most spectacularly placed window at the altar which looked out onto the sea, absolutely stunning. We had a picnic at the edge of the universe (as there was inifinite ocean as far as the eye could see). Was a very sweet place.

Afterwards we journeyed upto Mossman Gorge where we went on a big trek around the Gorge and through the rainforest. Was fantastic going for a big stomp through the forest. The Gorge and the surrounding area are spectacular and the water is so powerful. I'm so glad we visited there as you felt really connected with nature.

As evening started to draw in we crossed over the water to Cape Tribulation and was welcomed by the most amazing energy coming from the forest. You could just feel an atmosphere change outside the car and when we rolled down the windows we heard the most amazing sounds from the creatures that inhabit there.

We spent the following two days going on walks around various parts of Cape Trib. The first one took us through the rainforest and at the end you were given the most spectacular view of the forest clearing opening up on to the beach. The beach was lovely with loads of tiny flecks of gold in the sand.

Another walk we did was to Emmagen Creek. After an hour and a half walk we came upon the gorgeous freshwater swimming hole. The water was gorgeous really cool and clear and was quite dense to swim through.

We then headed back down to Cairns and Yeshim and me said our goodbyes as shes flying to Melbourne and I'll be heading down the East Coast. So pleased Yeshim and me were able to spend some time together and it was lovely catching up with her somewhere else than a London club... we only had to travel to the other side of the world to do it :o)
