...Infinity. Dream World. Inline skating in Brisbane. Brisbane Comdey Club. Alex & Dan performing at DC. Stomping at Beats. Mt Coo Tha. Museum of Queensland. Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA)...
The highlight of this week had to be Infinity. Alex took me to this awesome place in Surfers Paradise to have a fantastic & unique experience. Infinity is "20 unique worlds of amazing special effects and illusions. An awesome world-first attraction that is the ultimate chemical free trip."
Alex and I had so much fun, running around in the different worlds, giggling and behaving like children. You could really let your imagination run wild in there. There were rooms like those in the Jairoquai videos, others that seemed like an alien space ships and one that resembled being in Moby Dick's stomach. My favourite room was a cube of blacked out mirrors that had millions of twinkling white lights behind them and an angelic female voice singing random notes. It really felt like you were in the heart of space and spinning around in the middle of the room just made the experience so much better as it felt like you were going through the stars at warp speed.
We also went and did some more thrill seeking at the beginning of the week by going down the Gold Coast to Dream World. Haven't been to a theme park in ages and as it was term time we got to go on loads of rides. Alex's sense of fun made the day loads more exciting but in an ironic twist it ended up tipping it down here and when it rains in Oz it pours. So we got absolutely soaked going on the Big Drop. But it was worth the thrill as it dropped 84mphs, 4 Gs from 119 metres. Excellent!!!!
Jodie, Alex and I viewed Brisbane from a different perspective by hiring out inline skates and letting ourselves loose on the city. Got to admit there were some close calls coming over the bridges and through the Botanical Gardens but we had a wicked time and it was such a laugh.
Other highlights this week were celebrating Les (Alex's dad) birthday at the Brisbane Comedy Club. The crowd were just as entertaining as the comedians. Alex and me also got our stomping shoes back on and headed down to this little club called Beats where we got to revel in some decent Hard Dance music thanks to a DJ called Miss Tracy. I also got to see Alex and his brother Dan performing live at a new event called DC. They were fantastic and got an amazing reaction from the crowd. I also saw them play in their football cup final and we all went up to the Mt Coo Tha view point to see the twinkling lights of Brisbane city at night. Jodie and I also did a bit more sightseeing by viewing the Museum of Queensland and the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA).
This week was fantastic as I got to meet up with Jodie again (away from the storms of Rainbow Beach) plus Alex and I got to spend some quality time together doing all heap of fun exciting things as well as a load of random nonsense. So glad I've got a few more days in Brisbane.
