Day 2 - woke up feeling a whole lot better now that I had some sleep. Breakfast was lovely cereal,bacon and eggs served by the lovely people of the ridge mount hotel!!

First on the list today was Westminster Abbey - absolutely breathtaking and quite overwhelming - once again the history of the building makes you feel quite small in the whole scheme of things!!
After the Abbey we wandered down to have a look at Big Ben and then started to make our way to Buckingham
Palace. The police presence was incredible and many roads were closed off and buckingham palace is closed off to the public till 14th June. The most distressing thing I saw today was walking through one of the royal parks and ducks had ganged up against another duck and pecking it to death - it was horrible!!!

So after we saw the house guards do their thing we went and bought tickets to go and see the military musical
spectacular tomorrow night.

From there we decided it was lunchtime - after a quick chat with the concierge of a hotel he pointed us in the direction of the ye old Cheshire cheese pub where we met two people from the gold coast working there - definitely high on the pubs you should visit not for the food but for the history!!!
After lunch we walked to the Covent garden markets and bought myself a new pair of docs and had the most amazing ice cream even though I was slightly disturbed that they sold breast milk ice cream. We also discovered a tobacconist that sold Sherlock Holmes pipes but after seeing that they were 189 pounds - i stopped myself - maybe a deerstalker hat is the way to go!! From there it was on to soho - we finally found the red light district - on the search for a baseball cap for a friend!! We found the shop in amongst the sex shows shops - only thing was - we didn't know Luke's size!! By this time, I was over walking do I had my first ride in a black cab - just like any other cab but it had to be done!!

So while I rest my tired tootsies for tonights jack the ripper tour Sean is finding castles that we can go visit!! Will update later on re: ripper tour!!!
