Visited the oldest mosque built in 700 then in 1236 it was transformed into a cathedral by adding bells to the tower and building an altar in the middle of the mosque. Simple. Another early start for our trip to Cordoba. After 1 1/2 hr drive through some very parched farm land we arrived in Cordoba. We passed an area that has a relativey new Spanish invention called the "andaluz sun". Not sure about the spelling... but it was built to harness the sun's energy to produce electricity by harnessing the sun's rays through mirrors. They pump water through it to create steam, to run some turbines and voila... electricity. Looks very futurist...
