We arrived in Russia this afternoon. We had a bit of a delay due to ice at Domodedovo airport and had to go into a holding pattern for half an hour until the weather improved, which it did, and we landed ok. We then had to navigate our way up to Moscow using the Aerotrain which takes 45 minutes to Moscow. On arrival we followed the crowd to the Metro and managed to buy tickets and get the right tube train with no major dramas. The tube station was AMAZING, the tiling and decoration was stunning with chandeliers hanging along the platforms. We wanted to take photos but were a bit wary in case it wasn't allowed. So many people all with a sense of purpose striding along. I had written down the points along my route on a piece of paper and pushed it under people's noses to check we were going the right way and everyone was very helpful pointing us in the right direction. We had a short walk once we left the Metro and arrived at our hotel within 10 minutes (hooray for Google maps). We've settled in, had a meal and now we are ready to tackle Russia!
