Berlin at last! What shall we find here?

Well our couple of days in Berlin went too quickly. Our hotel was a 10 minute train ride from Berlin Central station. We dumped our bags and went into the East side and had a look around Hackescher Market, then went for a Thai meal. Berlin seems to an ecletic mix of styles all mashed together, architecture and people. It seems very colourful in places and very utilitarian in others. There is a lot of building work going on which detracts from the enjoyment. Our second day was spent shopping for clothes to wear in Russia as we have mostly summer gear and needed some warm jackets! By lunch time Chris had a raging headache so we had to cut short our shopping trip so he could recover. We managed to get most of what we wanted, so we are all ready for Russia.
