We've just arrived in Palmero by ferry from Genoa in northern Italy. After boarding we found that the ship had just had a refit, unfortunately they forgot to refit the engine and we arrived 3 hours late. Not a good trip as half the ship was closed and we were pleased to dock in Palmero.
The day before in Genoa was interesting. We stayed in a typical Italian b and b and spent the day exploring the old part of the city. Lots of mixed Italian architecture jumbled together to create long narrow streets some 6 or 7 stories high or taller. A photographer's dream. LOTS of scooters everywhere. Also a lot of graphiti everywhere, in fact it was hard to find anything without it! There were also a lot of Moroccan street hawkers selling genuine Italian souvenirs. The ferry didn't leave until 11 pm so it was a long day and we were pleased to eventually sail, however by the end of the voyage we were just as pleased to get off!
