Our final 2 days in Vietnam have been great - on THursday we spent the day on the Mekong Delta - after a 2 hr drive (which doesn't get you very far here!!) we stopped at a brick making factory and then boarded our boat for a trip along the delta. The area is a major coconut growing area so we saw hundreds of people hulling them along the delta. We stopped off to watch how it is done and have a go - also tried the coconut shards. Back on the boat and then stopped to see mattresses being made from the coconut leaves. FRom there we got on trucks and were driven through the plantations to our homestay for lunch - which included elephant ear fish!! Will tell you more in my next blog!

A wander through the delta and then we got on sampans to take us down the delta to our boat. Back to My Tho and then the bus took us to a candy making factory before our trip back to HCM city.

On Friday a few of us visited the cu chi tunnels - a very moving experience and will write more in my next blog as it's early morning and we now have a 7 hr drive on a public bus to Cambodia!!
