Adventures of a Global Wanderer
Today I was leaving Quebec after my extended weekend break. My flight was at 2.40pm so I was hoping to leave the place I was staying by noon after sleeping in and late breakfast.
I'd booked thru Airbnb and when I checked the calendar for this week nobody was staying after me for two days so no rush to leave. Then I got a text from the owner that someone had booked, the cleaner was coming at 11am and could I be out.
I went back to the poutine place for one last heavy meal. I had toast coated in gravy and green peas with fries and chicken for $12. I'd arranged for my cab driver from when I arrived to take me back to the airport.
I had two hours to kill at the airport. Most flights went to Toronto, Montreal, or Ottawa. There one to New York and smaller places in Quebec like Isles de Madeline or Bonaventure which I had to look up after.
I had the back corner seat as usual but the attendant wanted me to move even though the flight was half empty. I put my foot down as not sure why they keep kicking me out the back row when they allow it for seat selection.
On landing I tried to film the descent, hence the insistence on a good seat for photography. My battery died again but I managed to join the two clips into one movie.

My camera can take pics while recording but they are all in landscape mode. You have to know the layout quite well as the landing over the downtown skyline can be over in a quick 30 seconds in the final descent.
After leaving the plane Conservative Party Leader Debra Ambrose was waiting to board. As a visibly ethnic person who their party base seems to have a loathing to I had the urge to jump up to her and say 'boo' startling her but I didnt.
There is a new tunnel to the island airport which was more than a year behind schedule which I took to try out and save time heading home. I actually prefer the ferry as its more scenic and fun even if the ride barely lasts a minute.
The streets in Toronto were completely clean compared to the snow covered landscape in Quebec. It was a nice little trip and I got to improve my French quite a bit.
I always liked Quebec City more than Montreal. I'll be back but in warmer weather next time.
