Been for 6 days now, the place is beautiful but it is time to move on. The trip continues towards the southwest, to some of the finest dive locations around. The exact plans will be made tonight, together with Carl, an English friend I met here.
The days on this island have consisted mainly of the beach, the pool, seafood, suntan and sunburn, mango shakes, some nightlife, my hammock on my porch and overall a lot of relaxing.
For filippines ways this is an expensive place but for us still very cheap. 100 pesos is €1,80. A beer is between 40 and 90, all you can wat seafood buffet is 295, mango shake around 90, tricycle tranportation for 15 minutes cost 50 and my a/c, tv, porch, hammock, pool bungalow is €29/night. But as I have been told prices will drop by about half still when travelling away from here.
Thursday I went for a scuba dive to the wreck of the Camia II, a small freighter just off the coast. Went there by speedboat and down the line to 28 meters. Dove for 40 minutes, entry 10:36, exit 11:16. Average depth 19,5 meters, average water temp 29 Celsius. Swam around and through the wreck, the cargo compartments and engine room. Nice little fish, colourful. Nice and easy dive, more to come in the next days then!
Besides the brutal sunshine, there are short bursts of tropical thunder storms as well. Nice cooling rain showers, fun to go swim in the ocean then. Today I walked all the way to the other end of the beach and the pic of this blog is taken from the place where i sit now. Pretty good view, going back to walk along the beach now, more stories later!
And Happy Mother's Day out there!
