Phi Phi town is definitely a young persons place - badly hit by the Tsunami you can see that they are still trying to rebuild it.We only spent 2 days on Phi Phi and 1/2 of one of them was getting there... We spent the first afternoon exploring Phi Phi Town (takes approx 15 mins) and it's beach. The beach has quite a laid back/relaxed vibe with the beach bars playing chilled out music. We stayed in a really good backpackers hostel in Phuket town which had a really convenient bus stop right outside the door with buses ready to take you to Karon or Patong beach every 30 mins for a mere 25 - 30 baht. We left Bangkok on Tuesday morning early, well 8am.
