I met my lovely tour group and group leader yesterday morning and the first thought that came to my head........... I should have just stuck with the bigger suitcase rather than the little rucksack ( which seems to have ripped a little slready) EVERYONE had massive cases!!! (Except the one guy who had his luggage lost in transit)
Although everyone has been 'awesomely' impressed with my packing skills and how much I have managed to cram into one case........ I guess I am proud of that one little fact....
Anyway back to the group..... 3 girls from the UK, 1 from Australia and 1 from Malaysia..... And one boy from the UK...... I have spent the last 2 days with them already and feel like we have known each other longer so that's a good start...... Everyone seems to be on the same page and also include some shopaholics!!!! ( I HAD to buy a pair of shoes yesterday and the group cheered me on to buy the second pair too- I RESISTED!!! The group
leader is lovely too ....... His name is Brady but for some reason I can't stop calling him Kip and the others have started now too!
So we spent the last 2 days in San Diego, relaxing by the beach with actual gold sparkling sand, visiting the first hotel that had electricity and the SAN DIEGO ZOO.....
The zoo was abs lovely and my new fav animal is now the polar bear and the baby pandas who looked all adorable and posed for the photos like naturals...... Have to say the highlight was seeing the giant elephants getting pedicures....... How many people does it take to give an elephant a pedicure? We counted 5!!! I am never complaining about my feet again!!
Have to say the biggest surprise has been my first hostel experience ........AMAZING!!!! Completely changed my view on hostels..... Ultra clean, friendly staff , beautiful decor and have got to know some lovely girls who we shared the room with each day...... USA hostel has certainly raised the bar...... Will be tough to beat it.....
Off to bed now after a pub quiz, so I'm up bright and early for our 7 hour road trip........ LAS VEGAS PART 2 - can not wait!
