Captains Log. Star Date 26.09.05 Ok, so I finally left Sydney. What a sad day it was :( I flew down to Melbourne last night, it was a bit of a mission due to delayed flights, sick passengers etc etc, always the way! Anyhoo managed to get to the hostel and to sleep around 12 ish. First impressions of MElbourne wern\'t great but I think tiredness had a big part to play in that... Today in the light of day Melbourne is nicer than it first appeared... I spent the day checking out the CBD and inner city. Federation Square, where there is a live webcam which i was on for a minute or so! (see pics when they are added!) took a few photo\'s. I am reminded I am in Melbourne by all the trams in the middle of the street! I went to the Immigration museum which is interactive and really good. It also has the nicest toilets I have ever been in! I spent a good couple of hours in there, the museum not the toilet! ; ) During my interactive visit I found out that the cat is an immigrant from England and not native to Australia! mew And other interesting and slightly (or very) nazi like rules and regulations on being allowed into the country. All very interesting stuff, and I blagged being a student so got in for free (always a bonus!) Went to Carlton Gardens and the Melbourne museum, had a quick browse around the free parts (no free student access to this one gawd darn it!) Off to do the Great Ocean Road tomorrow and see the 8 apostles... last few days in Australia... will upload piccies asap! Tis all for now! Over and out xxx
