Captains Log: Star Date 10.12.05 Hello all : ) Glad to see the messages on the board, its lovely to read them all when I check it... Just thought I'd add a quick one to say I spent a few days in Townsville, we went to the aquraium-as you can see by the piccie of nemo (the only pic I got of the aquarium as my camera batteries ran out straight after this one! Doofus!) It was cool they had a nemo sign next to all the fish and other animals found in the film, there were lots, including a sea turtle like crush...awesome! Dude! It was funny we were there when they were feeding the sharks and the turtle is in with the sharks, and although they are supposed to be herbivore's she absolutly loves the shrimp and darts around the water munching away to her hearts content on them! : ) Also went for a day trip to Magnetic Island, so called after Columbus decided it must be magnetic as he sailed past in the 16th century becasue it made his compass go funny! Got a catermaran over to the island and once there we hired a mini moke, like an old skool mini but no doors or roof...so fun! It was like dodgems or something...only we would of had to have paid insurance had we actually hit anything (aka dodgems)...so we didnt! We found a little sanctuary on the island too, which had koala's and roo's and a wombat, all of which we got a chance to go in and stroke etc. It was really cool, because it was only small we were the only people in there and got a guided tour by the guy who was feeding all the animals, and by pure fluke we arrived just as he had started, so it was cool. There were two baby koala's but we wernt allowed in with them, as they were still with their mothers and I think we would of got a firm koala b**** slap had we tried to touch the baby's! There was also a parrot that said gooday darlin' to me when i walked past, which I was thoroughly impressed by! He wouldnt say it again when we demanded...stoopid bird! : ) We lounged around a bit for about a day doing a whole lot of nada, just because we can! he he! And then got the bus down to Airlie beach.... Over and out xxx
