Today we drove from Winton where we stayed for 2 nights. Winton is best known for its Dinosaur museum due to the vast numbers of dinosaurs found on grazing properties in the region. We have spent a full day of museum exploring in Longreach in Central Western Queensland. Not much green grass out this way and just over 30 degrees today. We started the morning with a visit from a couple of Brolga’s and then on to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame. A little disappointing. Overpriced at $170 for a family for what it contained. Two day drive from the Gold Coast to Longreach. Big days of driving again. A nice overnight bush camp. I love that we can pull up and in 1/2 hr we are all around the dinner table with quiche and salad. No time wasted on setting up camp with our JB Dirt Road Caravan. Well we have made our way to Broadbeach to meet up with family for a few days. The 3 boys and the caravan travelled down from Airlie Beach with a one night stop at Yeppoon and two nights in Maroochydore. Great rest stop at Airlie Beach. Stayed at BIG4 Airlie Beach which we had heard great things about. We were a little disappointed and thought some of the Victorian parks we have stayed at are much better. Having said that, the boys had fun in the pool and in the water slides; a common theme this trip. We didn’t get out to the reef for a day trip unfortunately. Airlie Beach reminded us of Port Douglas.
