Hi Everyone,
Just to let you know, that after a 14 hour ordeal at the immigration centre in Miami, I have now been granted permission to stay until 22nd October. It is an experience that I never want to go through again and just in case you're wondering, no, there was no latex glove action thankfully LOL!!!
However, immigration felt that I should never have been denied a visa and have created a 'case' on me and fully back my next visa application. The case they've produced is water tight in my favour and SHOULD guarantee the next application to be successful...however, experience is telling me to wait and see.
So my year in Florida has now become 9 and a half weeks and if I get the visa, then I'll go back to school holiday visits until Tony comes back over.
Yesterday I came out of the airport at 9am absolutely exhausted, a full 15 hours after landing. The first hour was spent on the tarmac as the police declared the aircraft a crime scene as an elderley passenger unfortunately died during the flight. Tony waited in the airport arrival lounge for me all that time so he too was drained both physically and emotionally.
After the drive home, we had breakfast, a shower and then crashed for a couple of hours. The rest of the day we walked around in a daze before settling for an all you can eat chinese buffet for dinner, followed by a walk on the beach. As we were getting ready to head back, a full moon appeared through some faint clouds, which we watched with the palm trees in the foreground...beautiful.
This afternoon we've been to the beach...well, it was mid 90's :) However, a hurricane is about to hit!!! So, watch this space!
