03.07.05 Arrived in Bangkok (eventually!) Took me nearly 12 hours from Krabi - a cramped 3 hour minibus journey, a wait and a delay at the airport of 6.5 hours and my flight... met Angela at the airport and we checked into our hostel - not too bad! (Nothing like as bad as in 'The Beach'!) Although we are on Kaoh San Road! It's v. noisy, but really cool! Even managed to bump into Lizzy, Vicky and Clare from Oz! 04.07.05 Went for breakfast with Angela and the 'Oz' girls :) Met up with Han & John and we all headed for 'Wat Po' - to see the 'reclining buddha'. He's huge!! Saw quite a few more impressive temples, walked and walked! Went to the chinese quarter for a fab dinner. 05.07.05 Ended up shopping all day on Kaoh San Road! Too many bargains, too little time! Getting much better at bartering now :) Clue is - haggle with a smile!! Angela & I checked in at our posh hotel in the afternoon :) (had booked it already in the UK) it's really nice :D Then we treated ourselves to a Thai/Chinese buffet in the evening (full of locals - ace!) and watched War of the Worlds at the big cinema at the nearby shopping complex! 06.07.05 Overslept :S So missed our trip to the floating market, but made the most of the rest of the day :) Went to see the 'giant swing' but it was being renovated - as was some of the Grand Palace! But that and Wat Phak Yao were really pretty amazing. Really ornate. It was such a hot day though and I had to wear a cardigan to cover my shoulders!! Angela and I went swimming in our hotel pool in the late afternoon and enjoyed a buffet dinner there too before heading to Hard Rock Cafe! The music there was awesome! They had a really good live band that played Jet and Green Day!
