11.06.05 Arrived in Singapore today just after 4am! Body clock not quite adjusted though! Hung around in the airport for a bit and then got the shuttle to our hotel - which was really nice! Not 'backpackersish' at all!! Couldn't check in until 11am, so left my big bag at reception and then went 'off exploring'. Managed to walk down Orchard Rd (famous for shopping - although most of them were closed at 8am!!) Went to see the Esplanade (theatre) - pretty impressive buildings and got some really gorgeous views of the city from the river. Went to get a bite to eat, but nearly fell asleep at the table!! So headed back to the hotel and slept in the room - for much longer than I'd intended!! Heather arrived around 9pm, so we ordered room service!! 12.06.05 Got up for our included breakfast and then headed down Orchard Road again!! Bought a couple of little bits and pieces... tried to find a massage place, but it was closed when we got there!! We then caught the train to China town and had a quick look and a bite to eat, then (tired) we headed back to the hotel. Got dressed up for the evening after a rest, then went out to a restaurant around the corner for a bite to eat - really nice Chinese! Then - we went over to Raffles Hotel!! We had a Singapore Sling :) Tourist?? Who me?! Was good fun. It was Heather's idea to get a trishaw home (push-bike with a side cart) but what fun!! Great end to the evening :)
