Did our first stint of 'Couch-Surfing' at the home of the lovely Wadu family. Mother and father are artists and their house seems to be filled with all sorts of paintings and sculptures. Their home used rainwater and the kitchen was really basic. They let us cook some wonderful maize-based meals with them and made us feel extremely welcome for 2 days. Finally made it to Nairobi and a farewell to everyone we travelled with. Did a tour around the slums of Nairobi, which house half a million Kenyans. Unfortunately, no photos, but it was like stepping back in time. Had one last meal with the kiwis, Danish and Jason at a Korean restaurant. Hopefully heading to lake Naivasha for a few days.

Back from Zanzibar today by boat, autorickshaw and ferry. Chilled out on the beach and tried to do some running with Gen. We were warned not to as there are regular tourist muggings on the beach. Heading north towards mount Kilimanjaro tomorrow. Up at 4.55am....this is supposed to be a holiday!

Fabulous day up to Kendwa Beach. The coastline is stunning there. Also hit the manic street markets in Stonetown, eating local style samosas and seafood on skewers.

Spent a few nights on the banks of huge Lake Malawi. It had waves like the ocean. Was great to be out of the tent and sleeping in a hut right on the beach. Had a bin bag party, where the whole truck made an outfit out of 2 bin bags....mine only took a quarter of 1 bag. I made a Borat mankini. Nice! We made 2 eskees of cocktails and had a mad night. Most of us ended up dancing on the bar and in the lake at 1am without the bin bags! Cracking!
