This morning we visited Otway Fly Tree Top Walk. as the name suggests we were up in the tree tops on a walkway in a rainforest. We were 25 meters high at some points and had great views onto the forest floor. Dan wasn't to keen on the height but Donna was jumping up and down to make the walkway rock!
We continued to travel down the Great Ocean Road and we had lunch a coastal town called Apollo Bay. We then stopped off to look for Koalas, as the Great Ocean Road, has the largest grouping of them in the whole of Oz. We saw a few asleep in the trees and then we fed some of the native birds with some sunflower seeds...and one landed on Donna's head!!! Very messy as he was eating at the time!
We carried on and came to the home of the famous Rip Curl surfing brand. We visited Bells Beach, where the founders of the company can still be seen surfing and stopped in the town of Torquay where we did some shopping and Donna got a Rip Curl hoodie for a bargain price!
This evening we reached the city of Melbourne and our first impressions were that it was the biggest city we have visited so far, and infact it is the second largest city in Oz. We headed to our accomodation in the south of the city, only to be very disappointed, as the hostel was dirty (with mice in the kitchen), noisy and the kind of place you would only recommend to your worst enemy! We have to stay 3 nights due to cancellation charges but we hope to find somewhere better soon!
