We continued our culture week today with a trip around local temples. The first we visited was the Dragon Temple. The temple itself was very jaw dropping with around 500 steps going up the hillside and through a very colourful and large dragon's mouth! Once at the top we went into the temple, inside a cave, and our guide Mikey taught us how to prey to Budda and how to have our fortune read. Apparrently, our first child is going to be a daughter!!!
The next temple was again high up a cliff top, but this time there was a small, steep cable car to the top, where there was the largest Budda statue in the area. The final stop was at a temple where local monks gave us lessons in meditation, along with a group of local school school children. Teh whole day was very interesting and an insight into the Buddist life and culture.
