God I am on such a high and have so much to say my fingers won't keep up!! I've been part of the Clinton/Obama frenzy and it's been amazing to be in the middle of so many protests with the debate going on behind on huge screens on the Kodak theatre with Clinton & Obama inside( left when things started getting a bit to exciting and now all the police sirens are going crazy!!) Definately got on the tele which is everybodys dream here!! The atmosphere was electric, loud, really good humour and very entertaining. Anyway I will start at the begining !! Left Aussie wondering if I was doing the right thing and Denise stayed in Aus with Deb & Andy and the weather but I am so thrilled that I stuck to the plan. Met a great girl on the plane who was staying in Hollywood so I thought OK I might as well start there as anywhere so we shared a taxi. Her hostel didn't have accomodation so I started walking and got totally absorbed in the feel of the place. It was only when I actually looked to see where I was walking that I noticed stars with famous peoples names and suddenly realised I had been walking down Hollywood Boulevard for approx 30 mins!!! Found a place to stay where the manager did a deal and the room is absolutely perfect. He said I should go on a tour just to get a feel of the place so I took this excellent advice and had a brilliant day & night with Deb and Helen (2 women on their own the same as me). Forgot to mention that the forecast in LA was very cold and snowy so it was a hell of a shock to arrive in brilliant sunshine with temperature at 67 degrees!! Back to the sightseeing trip (in tee shirt!) sun shining - no flies or mossies!!. Our driver was very knowledgeable and showed us all sorts of landmarks and stars homes ( he mentioned lots of people that I had never heard of but I've never been good at the celebrity world!!) Everything you see evolves around films and their stars. The hotel where they filmed Pretty Woman. The Park where Hugh Grant was naughty! The gents loo where George Michael was naughty!! Places where famous people had committed suicide!!!!!

The place Elvis used to buy his burgers??!! The carwash where the film was made Sunset strip, Beverly Hills, the blues bar where Phil Spectre met the waitress he later killed, the court where he was tried, the freeway where OJ Simpson tried to flee from the police, Rodeo Drive and the amazing shops (most of which you have to have an appointment to go into!!) Frank Sinatras house plus Tom Cruise & Kelly Holmes, Pat Boone, Ossie & Sharon Osbourne, Marilyn Monroe & Joe Mangio, Christine Aquilera, rapper called Bow Wow?? (help please Megs) Santa Monica (picture shows the pier at Santa Monica where they filmed part of Sting & Forest Gump) and so much more that I can't remember and it was all great. Part of the tour was stopping at certain spots and sightseeing and at Santa Barbera us 3 girls found a Mall that was closing down and I found jeans, boots and jacket all half price and fantastic quality and Deb & Helen found bargains too. At the end we were passing the Chinese theatre where a Premiere was happening, red carpet out, hundreds of people and papperazi everwhere.Ended the day with the 3 of us going for a Mexican meal, drinking loads of wine and ended the most brilliant day - I absolutely love LA. It is the most exciting place I've ever been too. Oh I went into a Scientology Musuem (not knowing what is was but it was really interesting) Feel I know Tom Cruise much better!!!!!
