Day 11
Ingleby cross to clay bank top
11 miles
Depart 1000
Arrive 1630
As with the pattern if one sunny day one dreary day, the sun was out for a good day on the moors. A fantastic contrast to the walk of yesterday. It was almost immediate as well as only 5 mind out of ingleby we were heading up through a forest only to appear 30 mins later on to with the north Yorkshire moors ahead of us.
It was a nice, relatively easy day with clear signposts and nice clear easy to walk pathways.
In Richmond Eloise had revived a surprise parcel from her friends containing various goddies. Among which was a set if stick on Moustaches. Obligatory photos with them on done we then moved on with odd looks following us. We were even photographed by Americans in between there exclamations of awesome and amazing.
We had met them before on and off as they were doing the abridged C2C with lower level paths and taxis when it was raining.
The rest of the day ambled along in sunshine and good views before reaching clay bank top where our b&b came and picked us up in the car, then took us down the Pub and back in the evening and then dropped us back on the route after breakfast in the morning. It was very nice being chauffeured around rather than having to hike off places in the evening.
After dinner it was tone for minor surgery on Eloise's foot to get her blisters sorted for the next day and I'm sure the b&b owner must have wondered what was going on in the room with me asking 'pain or tickle' in response to little screams as I tried to remove some welded on compeed.
Surgery successfully completed though it was time for bed in preparation for the next day.
