Hotel breakfast not the best, not the worst but only just. Fruit selections included raw crinkle cut chips - would have been better cooked. Decided to coffee shop hop while doing the sights. We managed the post office where Yvonne pretended to call Moscow and needed an iced coffee then a roundabout with a mouldy lake and lady having a wee and then needed another iced coffee in the air con. By the cathedral found bride central with 6 happy couples all competing for the best photo back drops. The runners up got the post office. Then off for a cultural afternoon where we saw the Reunification Palace and the WarRemnants Museum. The palace was a spectacle of 1960s architecture including state rooms, cinema, discotheque, lounge bar, casino, shooting range, helipad and underground bunker. Everything your dictator might require. Austin Powers could feel at home. Garden came complete with a fighter jet and 2 tanks. Very understated. Then off to the museum or the 'we hate the Americans and the French in that order' exhibit . This came complete with innumerable photos of dead people, deformed foetuses in jars (agent orange) and lots of ordnance. It was a bit one sided. We thought they were a tad upset about the agent orange. On a lighter note, more puppies for sale but still not sure why you would sell baskets of puppies on street corners. Dinner and drinks a challenge as we have accidentally stayed in the Knightsbridge of Saigon with a backpacker budget. David started the hols with a pocket full of Dong. He was very proud of the size of his bundle. But after 3 weeks it is somewhat spent.
