Busy day, pool, coffee shop (to cool down in aircon), beach then back to the pool just in time for it to rain so ran back to the pool for a swim in the rain. For our evening entertainment we picked a bar in the centre of Soi Bangla and watched the tide of humanity go past. Highlights included the Qatar foot volley team buying tickets to the naughty show (an education for them I'm sure), the queen of Russia (out dressed the other Russians which takes some doing), hip hop crew complete with rubbish trainee, various lady boys (very tall for Thais and large hands) plus plenty of western-Thai couples. Now you never actually see any prostitution but there is no way those guys can pull those girls without an extra incentive. The rule as far as we can tell is the older the guy, the prettier the girl - we reckon the girls target the guys who will be the most grateful for the least effort. The other phenomena is huge guy (tall or wide or both) and tiny girl - we think this is simple opposites attract. The weirdest that we've seen several times is 2 older guys (the most extreme being a father in his 70s and son in the 50s) with a Thai girl and we couldn't tell who she was with.
