Decided this morning to mix things up a bit. So after breakfast we headed to the beach. We noticed last night that the beach bar we were in rented space under their trees with a mat, table and towel. Last night was so peaceful with the sound of the waves lapping on the shore; we just had to. Now we've never been to a formula 1 race but imagine the noise that met us is similar as when we arrived the high speed jet skies were at full throttle as part of the beach games. We must have been a quarter of a mile away but we could easily follow the race by the noise and the bow waves from these machines. After a while the race ended and peace and tranquility was restored with the exception of the occasional swear word from Yvonne who really doesn't like the beach and is convinced everything on the beach did bite her.
We are financially solvent once more. No not the ping pong contest - it's turns the 500 baht entrance fee did not include any chance of turning a profit. A man explained to David exactly what would be involved and he decided that it wasn't for Yvonne.
The now refreshed bank card was taken out for the evening and we celebrated being in funds with a trip to the microbrewery. In addition to pints of wheat beer they sold flintstonesque pork knuckles. Of course Yvonne had her usual Thai food.
