Valencia 2
So I returned to Valencia with Corinne, my second time to this city. The main reason I was back here was I found a really cheap flight from here to Paris later in the week so I thought it would be a great chance to get some beach time and chill out. Plus I really like this city and last time I was here Matt and I just sat in an Irish bar everyday watching Cadel dominate the Tour.
In my hostel I met a bloke from the Netherlands named Brend. We got along like best mates, he was such a nice bloke and we had heaps in common, I would of played at least 30 games of pool over the week I was here with him (and hardly lost a game).
I had a really nice lunch with Corinne one day to try a real Spanish meal. We got a huge Valencian Paella which is like this weird chicken vegetable and rice thing cooked with saffron so its really yellow, damn tasty too. Had a nice cool glass of sangria with it too to top off the spainsh experience. Was a really nice meal.
At my hostel Brend and I met a heap of people and we all went to the beach together a few days in a row to soak up the rays. The beach was a quick metro trip away and is quite an amazing beach, it looked like it would have been at least 1 kilometer long and about 100 meters from ocean to the end of the sand before you get onto the pavement. It was Huge, and it was also quite packed!
Valencia is not really well known as a travel destination for English speaking tourists, but a very popular holiday destination for Europeans so it was nice to get away from the usual crowds and the beach water was so warm.
My flight to Paris was at 5 am so I actually had to set my alarm for 1am in the morning which was quite tough. I had to catch a cab to get to Valencia airport but wasn't too expensive. I made it easy enough and hopped on my plane to Paris.
