Wednesday 27th JuneWe set off as a "family" of United Mice (name of tour company) with Sol our Guide to travel along the Sacred Valley (Urubamba Valley) to the start of the Inca Trail at Km 82, Piskacucho. Our first Inca site of the Sacred Valley Tour was Sacsayhuaman (sexy woman!) just outside Cuzco. This is where the Inti Raymi ceremony is held on 24th June (winter solstice). Monday 25th June We drove from Chivay this morning watching the sun rise as we climbed up to 4,800 metres to cross the mountains. The frost and ice was glistening whilst we were shivering as there's no heating in the truck! Fortunately it was very sunny and the scenery stunning - mountains, lakes, alpaca and llamas.
