Well Pai was rather chilled out, we got the bus from Chiang Mai with Tim, Janis and Thibaut, it was a rather windy road taking over 3 hours. There was many sharp turns in the road which were rather scary, but when we reached Pai we were delighted to find it was much more chilled out than Chiang Mai. On the bus we made friends with two French Canadian girls Audrey and Ariane, who told us tales of India which will be very useful for when we get their.
We stayed in Mr Jan's guesthouse extremely basic but 200baht a night so 4 pounds with a lovely little garden. We hired to bikes to get around Pai as there is many waterfalls and some hot springs. We saw the hot springs and then chilled out at a little cafe outside of Pai whilst it rained. As we headed back to the guesthouse we headed out for tea and talked between us until the small hours in the garden.
The following day we rode up to a Wat on the hill, which over looked Pai, it was breathetaking and we could see the rain clouds rolling over the hills and into the valley. This day was much of a write of due to me getting very ill with a tummy bug :( ... tomorrow we are headed to Chiang Rai and then will be making our way to Laos. We have made the most of the last two rather lazy days to get some reading done for our futher travels ahead.
