Tulum was HOT! we were staying right on the beach in Cabanas which would've been perfect if it wasn't full of bugs. Megan registered around 70 and Dave 35 bites, and that was in one night.
We also had a huge tropical storm in the night which was a little intimidating especailly with the winds at over 50mph. These cabanas weren't that well made so if a hurricane was to hit we were sure they wouldn't last! Anyhow the day came - thank god and the storm passed. It was SO hot - like 35 degrees at least. Dave thinks he has lost weight just from sweating so much!
We visited the Tulum Mayan ruins which were right on the beachfront - if we were Mayan this was definately the place to be - the beach and sand was pure white and the ocean green like picture perfect.
The highlight of our stay was that we got to release baby turtles into the ocean during the second night. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity, they were so sweet and small struggling along the sand to the ocean. Brilliant.
