Dangerous Dave's Daring Deeds
Hollllllleeerrrrrr...
Yo. Wassup people. Word up from kicking Chiang Mai, where I think I'm about totake Richyboy up on his advice and go check out Shaun at the British Council - you reckon he'll supply me with a villa with a pool or anything mate?
Arrived here this morning and to my joy ended up in the same hostel as Farida and Jeremy, who left Bangkok a few days ahead of me and have just returned from their trek - apparently twas awesome, despite them ending up with a slightly dodgy group. Not only was it groovy to see them again, having thought that they would have deja vamoosed to Laos, but also pretty useful, given that Friday still has my air ticket home, and this could well be the last time we see one another before some kind of reunion partay back home - she wanting to go to China for a couple of weeks, while I'm pretty happy grooving along herein these parts - plus, despite my recent losses through theft, I'm still hoping to be able to stay out a little longer than we'd at first planned - although Christmas is now looking a little too far off - it turns out that whichever goit (good word, hope it doesn't mean anything I'm not aware of) stole my stuff, also managed to get over 500 squid from the account - not groovy. If I can't get it back before my return, you may even be seeing me earlier than you'd wanted to! Still, such sour matters aside, still loving the whole travelling malarkey - and I went and bought a replacement camera today, knowing that you guysh would be pining for photos of hefelants and leeches, temples and statues, dredlocks and opium pipes (did I say that last one? It's just something I heard).
Also, I forgot to mention one of surely my greatest achievements in my last update. I managed to eat a fried grasshopper. This was not an altogether unpleasant experience, although the little feelers/antennae jobbies getting stuck in my throat on the way down didn't make it one totally pleasurable. I strongly recommend the grasshoppers over the cockroaches though - Gehan, you're a better man than I, and you really showed those cockroaches in our room which was the dominant species. Right on.
EDITED FOR CONTENT
Yes yes, I'm afraid this update has had to be edited - my apologies to anyone who was offended or shocked by what they read, I meant no injury. If it's any consolation to those who read the entry and were disappointed in me, I genuinely did only go a second time as a chaperone, and the combined total of both evenings in monetary terms was less than US$10. My apologies again, hope you're all well.
....ooo er mrs.
Big love, x
