Dangerous Dave's Daring Deeds
Hello once more, this time from Kuala Lumpur. And may I say big happy birthdays to the following people, and my apologies for either having missed them, or the fact that I'm going to miss them... Natasha-Louise White!!!!!!!!!!!!! Richard Tarquell (You never knew...) Gorvett!!!!!!!!!!!! Alcira Aricla Bernardo!!!!!!!!!! Farida Ellen Lowe!!!!!!!!!!! (I know there's not much excuse for missing that last one, but just in case...). And to all others who I have shockingly neglected to remember this month. (Mlle Fourmont - je t envoye un email, donc ne m'en veux pa).
KL (as we streetwise travellers call it) is another bustling city, incredibly multi-cultural and about as humid as I've seen so far. We are loving it.
I think the last you heard from me - a mahoosive two days ago - we were going to be watching the England match in the evening and then coming here the next day. This is precisely what we did. Having asked in the hostel whereabouts we might be able to catch the match, we made our way across the road to a bar with a big sign outside saying G-Spot, called the Prickly Bush. Which turned out to be a perfectly normal, non-X-rated, bar. Shame. But after another disappointing performance from the lads, we slept and headed off for the bus station to catch our bus - an experience only made vaguely interesting by my last minute dash to the markets to find a bracelet (so far Uruguay is the only country visited that is not represented somewhere either on one of my limbs or around my neck...I didn't feel Singapore could let me down). This done I got back with seconds to spare (I reckon Dan Brown might be ablt to make that bit sound exciting - I'll give him a call). Dun-dun daaaaah.
After booking into a hostel in KL, we headed out to find some dinner, and ended up stuffing ourselves silly at one of the many hawker's stalls dotted around the place - for the princely sum of 90 pence. And that's pricey. I think I'm going to like the next few months :) Oooh, and by the way, just a little sidenote - Farida seems to have picked up my worms, and is beginning to try to match my eating capabilities. Sweeeeet.
Another night or two here, and then on to the Cameron Highlands to drink some tea and eat some honey, and perhaps do a little trekking. Awesome.
Right now though, I'm only on here to load up the last few photos from Oz, and a few from Singapore...much love to you all, DHG. xxx
