Ground Hog Day - Katherine NT - 1st September

It is time to cover a lot of the ground that we have already done as we return to the West. As we are limited to the bitumen with our road bikes from Pine Creek all the way back to the turn off to Derby will be a repeat of roads we rode several weeks back about 2000km of Ground Hog Day.

The road from Jabiru to Pine Creek had some outstanding scenery and with all the twisty roads we were in motorbike heaven. As we will be doing a few one night stops, and the prices of cabins are absolutely ridiculous up here, we will be doing the naked tent set up. Only the inner lining will be set up, table and other stuff will stay in the trailer but chairs will be out for a bit of comfort. Even the most basic donger with no windows and an air-conditioned was to be $65 for a single. Other simple accommodation is $140 plus for a double.

The naked set up saved a good 30 minutes on both setup and pack up.

Onward to Kununurra and WA time, cross the border and get back that hour and a half we lost.
